Marakame Griseldo Bautista

Marakame Griseldo Bautista carries the profound legacy of his ancestors as a medicine man deeply rooted in the traditions of his Wixarika community from San Andrés Cohamiata in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Coming from a lineage of healers—his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all served as medicine men—Griseldo continues this sacred tradition, guiding others in the use of the medicinal plant hikuri (peyote).

Griseldo leads our Peyote Retreats twice a year, offering participants a unique opportunity to reconnect with themselves through the wisdom and power of the medicine. He describes hikuri as a profound tool for self-reconnection, saying, “Hikuri is used as a reconnection with yourself. It connects you to your emotions, and it’s all medicine inside you. It starts working within, bringing out happiness and beautiful feelings.”

Beyond personal transformation, Griseldo has helped many overcome addictions through the healing power of hikuri. His ceremonies serve as a safe space for individuals to rediscover their inner strength, confront challenges, and embrace a renewed sense of joy and balance.
